February 23rd 2001 (daily pics index)
	022301: Planning surf trip to Panama with JCDavis began last year! Long anticipated departure date is now here... Spent the morning wrapping up business.. got home by noon to finish packing. Met JCD @ 1pm to ready for the drive to Pullman ariport. Low clouds & fog delayed arrival of plane. Pilots make a first unsuccessful pass over the airfield, but get in under the cloud deck on the second pass. Flight to Seattle rather uneventful (having made it so many times). Arrive @ SEATAC at 4:45pm. Booked into Sleep Inn for a quick rest. Had "breakfast" for dinner at a nearby ihop. Read and watched the news till 9pm then slept. 022401: Up @ 4:15am to go to SEATAC & check in at Internat'l departures. Line was ~ 25 long... 30 min wait... then off to AK lounge which opens in 15 min... Waiting & people watching outside in the hall... curious airport travelers, always a weird mix of veteran & novice travelers, dressed in wide variety of attire, from fatigues & nose rings to pastel stretch pants, big hair & elevated sneakers... JCD & I lounging in the hall... JC starts photolog....

February 24th 2001 (daily pics index)
	020401: ..... first photo (mavica) in AK lounge... reading paper, b'fast and catching up on news... flight to Chicago leaves @ 6:30am. Uneventful flight to Chicago... brief layover... JCD negotiates new connection to Miami... first/business class no less! Flight to Miami was truly relaxing, good food, salmon steak on bed of greens, wine & desert... Miami to Panama City flight left @ 7pm. Met a very nice lady (Mimi) who works for SABRE, lives in Panama & states.... lively conversations about Carnival in Panama (strarts tonight), party life in Panama, education, politics, etc... flight went rather fast with all the talk... Upon arrival in P.City, we fortuned to meet up w/ Peter Davis and the rest of the Corps in the customs line... The group consisting of (now 8 total) P. Davis, J. Davis, I. Popoff, J. Nickel, L. Miraglia, M. Moore, J. Arthur and myself. Jeff lost one bag in customs/on another flight and will have to make do for a couple of days. @ 11:45 we begin packing the bus for a transfer trip... to a larger bus which will take us to Chiriqui... City is muggy, 24o C, humid w/ smell of tropical mildew... Ahhh!
