"A cross between the Oscars and the Baldrige Awards of the Internet." --

The Global Information Infrastructure Awards (GII) is the independent
awards program that recognizes and promotes best practices and new
models in the use of Internet and network technologies. These best
practices and new models dramatically demonstrate the power and
potential of networked communications.
The awards cover all industries and sectors, from electronic commerce
and entertainment, to education and healthcare. While remaining
independent, the program's magnitude is demonstrated by the support it
has garnered at the highest levels of the private and public sectors.
The GII Awards was known as the National Information Infrastructure
(NII) Awards.
